Larose Avenue was named for Arthur Larose, the first doctor to reside in The Pas. The Department of Indian Affairs in Ottawa appointed Larose to be the first resident doctor of Northwest Territories, with his headquarters being in The Pas. Larose also successfully campaigned to have The Pas join Manitoba.
