Emile St. Godard became known in the world of dogsledding during the years 1925 – 1929 by winning every race in that time period. The non-stop dog sledding route (the largest in the world at that time) ran from The Pas to Flin Flon – a total of 200 miles. In 1932 Godard won gold in an Olympic event by participating in demonstration dogsledding, the first Manitoban ever to achieve this.
